The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Okanagan Chapter is pleased to present the 4th annual National Philanthropy Day® event in Kelowna. Philanthropy is “the love of humankind,” and National Philanthropy Day® (NPD)—November 15—is the day that thousands of people around the world come together to both (1) put that word into action and (2) recognize the change that word has brought to our communities.
Key Note Speaker: David Roche
David Roche is a pioneer of disability culture, and an inspirational humorist who has transformed the challenges and gifts of living with facial difference into a compelling message that has won standing ovations from New Zealand to Moscow, across Canada and the USA. He has written books including The Church of 100% Sincerity; appeared in the National Film Board’s Shameless: The Art of Disability; and has a principal role in the film Happy Face. David’s presence is as strong in the community as on stage, and is pleased to share his positivism and approach to generosity at this year’s National Philanthropy Day luncheon.
